Adare Manor beyond its estate entrance

The 2027 Ryder Cup is at Adare Manor, County Limerick, from 13 to 19 September 2027. To plan a holiday around it, do things in this order. Secure your tickets and a bed first. Then work out how you will reach the course, because there is no parking on site. Only after that should you fill the rest of the trip with the west of Ireland. This guide covers each step, with a sample itinerary and the questions that trip up most visitors.

TL;DR

  • The matches are at Adare Manor, Co. Limerick, 13 to 19 September 2027. Spectators reach the course by shuttle train, shuttle bus or Park and Ride, never by parking at the venue.
  • The official ticket ballot has closed. Tickets now come through ticket-inclusive hotel packages from Ryder Cup Travel Services, and the organisers warn against resale sites.
  • Adare village is the closest base but limited. Limerick City is the practical hub, and Clare, Tipperary and Kerry suit a wider trip.
  • Lock in the official product first, then build the rest of the trip around it, and arrive at least a day before your first session.
  • Book accommodation early. Self-catering homes suit groups and families who want space and a kitchen.

What is confirmed about the 2027 Ryder Cup

The event is hosted at Adare Manor in County Limerick, and the official site gives 13 to 19 September 2027 as the week. The main match days fall at the end of that week, but check the official schedule for exact session times, because the organisers say further details will be released in the coming months.

Treat the dates as the fixed point of your holiday. Everything else, flights, beds and tours, bends around them.

Two practical points are worth knowing straight away:

  • Adare Manor and the Ryder Cup are separate entities. Contacting the hotel directly will not get you event access. Tickets and official packages come through the Ryder Cup's own channels.
  • Early information changes. Transport plans, Park and Ride sites and spectator guidelines are still being finalised, so check rydercup.com before you commit to non-refundable travel details.

Tickets: what to do now

The official 2027 ticket ballot has closed. Tickets remain available through ticket-inclusive hotel packages sold by Ryder Cup Travel Services. The same page warns that Ryder Cup Europe may cancel tickets found on or bought from secondary resale platforms.

In plain terms:

  1. Start from the official ticket information page and use only the links it gives you.
  2. Treat any ticket offer on a social media post, forum or resale site as a risk to your whole trip.
  3. If you hold an official package, build everything else around its dates, rather than the other way round.

If you cannot get tickets, you can still travel. Adare, Limerick and the surrounding counties will be busy and lively that week. Just be honest with yourself about what you are buying: atmosphere and a base, not access to the course.

Getting to Adare Manor

The official transport page is clear on the essentials. Adare Manor is reached via four main airports: Dublin, Shannon, Kerry and Cork. Public transport links include shuttle services from Limerick Junction and Limerick Colbert stations, and a dedicated shuttle train runs between Limerick Junction and a temporary Adare Manor station. Those stations connect by rail with Dublin Heuston, Galway Ceannt, Waterford, Cork Kent, Killarney and Tralee.

If you drive, you use Park and Ride. The sites sit around Adare, with a dedicated shuttle bus of roughly 10 to 30 minutes. The service carries a charge and is available for pre-booking. There is no parking at the venue.

Which airport suits you?

Arriving from · Airport · Why choose it

North America, mainland Europe · Shannon · Closest to Limerick, so the shortest transfer to a Limerick base

Britain, Europe, long-haul · Dublin · Widest choice of flights, then a train or drive across the country

Combining with Kerry · Kerry · Handy if Killarney or Tralee is your base

Combining with Cork and the south · Cork · Suits a trip that ends in West Cork

The airports are the ones the organisers name. The table's reasoning is ours: pick the airport that matches the rest of your route, not just the cheapest fare.

Tips for match days

  • Decide your route (train or Park and Ride) before you choose your bed, since it shapes how far out you can sensibly stay.
  • Pre-book Park and Ride once booking opens, as the organisers say it is available for pre-booking.
  • If you rely on trains, stay somewhere with a straightforward connection to Limerick Junction or Colbert.

Where to stay for the Ryder Cup

The official accommodation page lists five-night glamping near Adare Manor with official four-day tickets, plus a luxury cruise-ship option in the Shannon Estuary with official four-day tickets and daily transfers. The official campsite, announced in June 2026, must be pre-booked and is open to ticket holders. The announcement reports average prices of €151 per person per night for a seven-night stay and €176 per person per night for five nights.

Beyond the official options, you have a choice of bases. Here is how we would weigh them.

Base · Best for · Trade-off

Adare village · Walking distance to the atmosphere · Very little stock, so it sells first

Limerick City · Trains, restaurants, nightlife, the widest choice · A transfer on match days

Shannon, Ennis (Co. Clare) · Airport access, a quieter base · Longer transfer to the course

Killarney, Tralee (Co. Kerry) · Mixing the event with touring · Long drives or rail legs

Coastal Clare, such as Liscannor and Lahinch · A seaside holiday with golf and scenery either side of the event · Needs a plan for getting to the venue

The standard hotel route is not the only one. Adare Manor has reportedly designated all of September 2027 as a blackout period for standard hotel bookings, so do not expect to book the resort as an ordinary guest that month.

Why a self-catering home can make sense

For groups of friends, couples travelling together and families, a house often beats three hotel rooms. You get a kitchen, a living room for the evening round-up of the day's golf, and space for luggage and clubs. The trade-off is that you need to plan transport carefully, so treat your distance to a train station or Park and Ride site as a key factor in choosing.

We have written a dedicated guide on where to stay for the Ryder Cup at Adare Manor, and a page on Ryder Cup 2027 accommodation if you want to see what we offer.

Perspective

Most visitors plan the Ryder Cup as a four-day event and then discover they have a whole week and a whole country around it. The week is the opportunity.

We run short-term stays in Ireland, and what we see is that guests who feel looked after remember the place, not just the bed. That is why we build a guest-facing brand around each property, with local guides and recommendations for the area. A guest arriving for a major golf event should find a home that tells them where to eat, what to see on the rest day and how to get to the course.

Our advice is to treat your accommodation as a base for the whole trip rather than a place to sleep between sessions. Choose somewhere with a kitchen, good rooms for the group and a host who knows the county. Then use the quieter days for the coast, the castles and the food.

Build the rest of the trip around the matches

The sensible order is to secure the official Ryder Cup product, then add broader travel plans around it. The same source suggests arriving with at least one clear day before the first event admission you value. Jet lag, a missed connection or a cancelled train should not cost you a session.

A west of Ireland route

A National Geographic itinerary suggests a western Ireland road trip that starts in Galway and ends in Cork. It takes in Clare, Limerick and Adare, Kerry and West Cork. It highlights Limerick's King John's Castle and Milk Market, Adare village and the Limerick Greenway, and Killarney National Park and the Ring of Kerry.

Here is how that could look over ten days, with the Ryder Cup in the middle:

Days · Where · What

1 to 2 · Galway · Arrive, settle in, explore the city

3 to 4 · Clare coast · Cliffs of Moher, a round at a links course, the Burren

5 · Limerick City · King John's Castle, the Milk Market, then onwards to your Adare-area base

6 to 9 · Adare area · Your Ryder Cup days, with rest days for the village and the Greenway

10 · Kerry or Cork · Killarney National Park or the Ring of Kerry, then fly home

Swap the order if your official package dictates different dates. The matches are fixed, so the other days flex around them.

Tourism Ireland also points visitors to Adare village, Limerick, the Wild Atlantic Way, Ireland's Ancient East and Irish cities as complementary experiences, and advises booking a trip while it is still possible.

Golf either side of the event

If you are visiting for the golf, a round or two before or after the matches makes sense. Clare has strong links golf, and our guide to where to stay near Lahinch Golf Club covers hotels and self-catering in that area. Courses and tee times are popular, so reserve early, the same way you would your bed.

With children

The Ryder Cup is a long day on a large course, so a family trip needs rest days built in. Adare village has historic sites including Adare Desmond Castle and the Trinitarian Abbey, and Limerick City has the Hunt Museum alongside King John's Castle. Check opening hours and admission details on each attraction's own page before you go. The Cliffs of Moher are an easy half day, and a house with a garden helps with younger children.

How early should you book?

Earlier than feels comfortable. Tourism Ireland's page advises booking while you still can, and the official site says details will keep emerging. Our own reading is that the best rooms and homes close to the venue go first, and that groups who want several bedrooms under one roof need the longest lead time.

A workable timeline:

  1. Now: confirm your tickets or official package, and book flights and accommodation.
  2. Early 2027: book your transport legs, rental car if needed, and any golf you want either side.
  3. A few months out: check the official site for confirmed transport plans, Park and Ride locations and spectator guidelines, then pre-book your Park and Ride or train access.
  4. Final weeks: check the weather forecast for September, pack for rain as well as sun, and confirm your arrival times.

Stay with us on the Clare coast

If your plans include the Clare coast and the Cliffs of Moher, we manage a guest house in Liscannor called Howards Way. Our page on hotels near the Cliffs of Moher shows what the area offers. You can see all our properties on our stays page, and each one comes with local guides and suggestions for experiences nearby. Check the official transport information against your route before you book, since a coastal base needs a plan for match days.

If you own a property in a tourist area and want it to earn more during major events like this one, our full-service short-term let management covers listing, dynamic pricing, guest screening, messaging, cleaning coordination and owner reporting. We work on commission, with a published range of 15-30%.

Practical checklist before you go

  • Official tickets or package confirmed through the Ryder Cup's own channels.
  • Flights into the airport that suits your route: Dublin, Shannon, Kerry or Cork.
  • Accommodation booked, with its distance to a train station or Park and Ride site checked.
  • A clear arrival day before your first session.
  • Park and Ride or train access pre-booked once available.
  • Rest days planned, with attractions and tours reserved where needed.
  • Travel insurance and a plan for wet-weather days.

FAQ

Questions worth answering

Can I still get Ryder Cup tickets for 2027?
The official ballot has closed. Tickets are still offered through ticket-inclusive hotel packages from Ryder Cup Travel Services, as the official ticket page explains. Avoid resale platforms, because Ryder Cup Europe may cancel tickets bought there.
Can I park at Adare Manor on match days?
No. The organisers state there is no parking at the venue. Spectators are expected to use the shuttle train from Limerick Junction, shuttle buses from Limerick stations or the pre-bookable, charged Park and Ride service, which is a 10 to 30 minute shuttle ride from the course.
Which airport should I fly into?
The official site names Dublin, Shannon, Kerry and Cork as the main airports. Shannon is closest to Limerick, while Dublin has the widest flight choice and connects by rail. Choose the one that fits the rest of your route.
Where is the best place to stay?
Adare village is closest but has very little availability. Limerick City is the most practical base, with the widest choice and rail links, while Clare and Kerry suit a longer holiday. The right answer depends on your group size, budget and how much touring you want.
When should I confirm transport details?
The organisers say further details will be released in the coming months, so check rydercup.com regularly. Book flights and accommodation early, and leave the final transport bookings until the official information is published.
